This is the kitchen before any work had been done. Although fairly modern, the lack of space and light created a constricted feel to the room. Working with the client and the kitchen designers, we came up with a design to open up the area and create a spacious and practical kitchen.
Our task from the beginning of this project was to disguise the large steel beams by using a clever ceiling solution. Here you can see the ceiling starting to take shape. The wall was also taken out of the kitchen to create a free flowing feeling between the kitchen and the dining room.
The finished result is a bright and spacious kitchen which leads seamlessly through to the dining room. The dropped ceiling, carefully positioned spotlights and low level strip lighting creates interest and beauty as well as practicality.
The kitchen area is the hub of any home and different levels of lighting from underneath the breakfast bar and around the ceiling help to create a sense of warmth and welcoming. It is now not only a place for cooking but also an area suitable for dining, working and entertaining.
In the dining room, we were tasked with creating a warm and friendly atmosphere that would be ideal for entertaining as well as highlighting some of the client’s artwork. Although the dining room was a nice size, a lack of creative lighting left it feeling cold and unloved.
The recessed ceiling adds a real touch of class and beauty. The light reflecting up onto the textured surface creates a golden glow above the dining table. The small elegant details can really make a room special.
The client had several pieces of art that required delicate lighting. We were able to add light that accentuates it’s beauty and draws you towards the point of interest, rather than just filling the room with bright white light.
We also do external lighting here at Greenleaf Lighting. Here is the outcome of our work on this property’s outdoor pool. The colour changing lights which illuminate the statue add a modern twist to this stunning pool area.
